I just put two sets of XS 24/7 Big Dot sights on my guns--one on a Glock 19, and one on an XD45. The tritium components are made by Trijicon, so you'll get the same quality you've enjoyed over the past decade.

+1

If you like a more traditional sight picture, Trijicon, Meprolite, Heinie, Warren Tactical, and Ameriglo all offer quality products.

Another +1 on the XS Big Dot 24/7's. I put a set on my XD45 service that does nightstand and in-home perimeter duty. My EDC, the XD40SC, has the TruGlo TFO 3-dot that I really like as well. Glad to know I can expect 10 years +/- out of them!

Ugh, for some reason I cannot stand the XS big dot sights. I had them on my P228 for awhile and finally threw em in the trash.

They aren't BAD sights, I just couldnt like them, no matter how much I tried.

My 20 yr old sig still has the Siglites (trijicon). They are still there and dim but glowing (the 1/2 life of tritium is 11 years, does that mean I have 11 more before they are gone?). I'll get around to it one of these days. They have been my favorites. My nighthawk also sports them.

11 years and they'll be twice as dim as that, meaning a quarter as bright as the original brightness. So, most likely barely noticeable.

Last I checked on my trijicon's you could send the slide only back to them and they would put new inserts in and return ship for $85 bucks (this was few months ago). If that helps easy and pretty cheap. Turn around was said to be quick.
