Bluegrass fans, need some help

Recommended Posts

I need some help from the bluegrass music fans on here. I know we've got to have at least a few.

Several months ago, I heard a song on the Sirius radio Bluegrass channel that I've been trying to find and can't. I don't recall the name, but I've searched for the lyrics on Rhapsody, Google, and even emailed the Sirius DJs. I still haven't been able to find the name of the song, or the group that does it.

The lyrics I can remember are;

"They're burning Georgia down,

Smell the smoke and the cinders.

They're burning Georgia down,

But we never will surrender."

Obviously, it's about Sherman's march during the war. If anyone can point me toward the name of the song, or the group, I'd be really grateful.

Just for clarity, I'm not trying to find a pirated download or something. I'd like to buy the album, because I'd like to hear more from that group.

I've been looking through my CD's and online. All I have is Atlanta is Burning, Atlanta's Burning Down, and some others. I'll keep looking.

That song is called Burning Georgia Down by Mark Bumgarner

Here's the website for the CD: CDBaby | Mark Bumgarner | On My Way Back Home

Balsam Range... I watched them showcase that song at the ibma awards last year. Probably have a pic somewhere. They also played yesterday at IBMA, the Renaissance hotel here in Nashville.

For anyone interested, I'm posting IBMA pics as I get to them...
