This seems like an unnecessary law. Careless driving is so broad that you can pop someone with that who is texting on a cell phone or even talking on a cell phone and not paying attention to the road. Careless would be a more expensive ticket, is a moving violation, and would teach some idiots to watch the road instead of watching TV in the tricked out Escalade with rims, texting, AND talking on the cell phones driving 50 on the freeways in Memphis. VERY irritating and not dealt with properly.

The thing is how many police officers use their computers while driving? IMHO thats 10 times worse.

I did 2 ride alongs 2 years ago and with 2 different officers. Both nearly rear ended others while using their computer.
