My new Freedom Arms Model 83 .454 Casull

Recommended Posts

I just got this yesterday and took it to the range.

I purchased the following ammo to try in it, Magtech Sport Ammunition 454 Casull 260 Grain Semi-Jacketed Soft Point, Winchester Super-X Ammunition 454 Casull 250 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point, and DoubleTap Ammunition 454 Casull 360 Grain Wide Flat Nose. The Winchester 250 seemed to be the best to shoot, the 360 grain Double Tap is a beast and I doubt I will shoot it again as I think the recoil is ridiculous and I have not seen any elephants wandering around. :P

Great gun. Shamwow...For 90% of the general membership who has pretty much gone batdung crazy with evil, black plastic appliances

This is the best single action revolver made. Ruger and Colt are nice, but can't hold a candle to the fit and finish here.

If you ever get sick of it I will trade you a beat up Mosin and 80 rounds of ammo for it...:P

Great gun,i got a Ruger Redhawk in 454 about 10 yrs. ago, my recoil is rough when i shoot 360 gr. penetrator's! But when i shoot .45 colt,it is like nothing, as far as recoil!
