Never seen one in person, but this might be an option for you. Pretty hard to find. If they become a bit more popular I might consider it down the road. I believe they can be had under MSRP...if you can find one:

CZ-USA VZ 58

I don't mind paying for quality either...when I think the quality ups the performance. I'm unsure of that in ak's. I just don't have enough experience shooting them to say.

A technicality, but those aren't AK's. Completely different systems and internals. Parts are not interchangeable.

They are extremely nice guns. If only parts were more available. :screwy:

Saiga's are great rifles, but in the configuration the are sold, which is that of a sporting rifle, most people turn them in to Ak wanna-bee's, sort of like turning a Mak-90 in to a preban!

If we had an idea of how much you want to spend, that would help!:dropjaw:

So what do you think about MAK-90's? I don't have any experience with any other AK types but I've put I know close to 3000 rounds through my MAK-90 and it's never failed. I paid $450 for it many moons ago.

Nothing wrong with a Mak-90, except they have all the ban features and even if you de-ban one, it still is nothing but a de-banned Mak-90!

I have never seen a pre-ban Chin AK for less than $1400. used, usually a

Polytech goes for $1800.- $2200.+ depending on type!

PS. A Mak-90 NIB is worth about $500. at best, but were going for $900. early in the yr, just like the WASR's!
