I am thinking about buying another carry gun, I have been trying to talk myself out of it but I guess I just as well give in and buy just one more. I really would like to get another XD but something bigger then my 40. The one big question I have is how well does the XD45 conceal and carry ?

I had the service version, and despised the holster that came with it. Maybe with a different holster, it may be OK for carry. It is kinda large for carrying if you ask me. Go ahead and get a Glock, and be done with it. Actually, ask Marswolf if he would sell you one of his.:)

I do not like the way a glock feels in my hand, thats how I wound up with the my XD sub in the first place :). I want to see how the "compact" XD45 feels but I have to get out of the AC to do that lol. I have a few things to do in the morning so I will more then likely head over to Parkway and midtown/downtown/cashtoday what ever the name of the shop is at 70 and the bypass and paw a few of their guns. If I have time I may run to Mike's and see if he will give me a better deal on something since I bought that super nova from him a couple of months ago.

I talked to Kyle at parkway today, he said they had quite a few used ones in. Not sure of any XD's though, but a few Glocks.

I will see what they have, maybe Utley will be working this weekend.

Before I got the Sig I used to carry an XD45 compact OWB in a Bianchi Model 82. I never had any problems concealing it with just a button-up shirt and shorts or whatever.

Whatever you do, dont try and use the holster that comes with it. Its almost like having the gun in your pocket!

The XD Gear holsters suck. Period. Don't let them jade your opinion of the XD45 Compact as a carry weapon. With the right holster (I used a CTAC) the XD45C literally disappears under a t-shirt.

Oh I agree the factory holsters blow, atleast the one that came with my 40 is the same way. I mean its great for around the house/farm but there is no way to hide it lol.

Mount the XD gear holster under your truck/car's dash and you've got a decent enough car holster.

Or to your bedframe. :)
