Well it finally happened to me! F'n CROOKS *RANT*

After 15 years of buying/selling/trading on the net I finally got screwed.

I know it happens. We hear about it all the time. Yet until now, I have somehow managed to steer clear of these rotten little bastards. Nothing pisses me off more then someone steeling from me.

I would much rather someone give me a sob story and ask for a handout (even if it's a lie) then to be a total thief. I know times are tough, I see it almost every day.. I even find myself more giving these days because of it.

The last gun show in nashville I went to there was a guy my age standing at the exit with a sign. I don't remember the exact wording but it was regarding loosing his job, family homeless, and hungry, blah blah blah//

We see those all the time too right? Well this guy was believeable.. No bottle of booze, no 5$ pack of smokes, no new shoes, normal dress, maybe a little rugged.. I thought to myself "Damn, this could actually be me" So with that thought I pulled out my "goodie" waud and gave the guy 2 $20 bills.

I never saw someone so happy in all my life. he thanked me, over and over and over before scurying? away. When the light changed and I got stuck in at the next.. I noticed this guy heading to an old chevy caprice

where he was met by a woman and what appeared to be a teen boy and girl and embraced each other.

I couldn't stand it.. I did a u turn and pulled up right next to him and got out of my car. I asked the guy to give me the $40 I just gave him. He had a puzzled look on his face and handed it back to me.

I pull out my waud again and replaced the two 20's with 100's. I gave it back to him and said you need this more then I. I didn't wait to see his face becasue I was about to tear up.

I don't know why I'm even posting this other then I'm pissed this a-hole stole $100 from me and the more I think about it.. The more it urks me.

So I hope this brass selling crook who stole from me gets what he deserves one day!

Sorry for all the gramer and spelling errors.. I wasn't much of a english major. Damn good with french tho...

Not only does your tale have NOTHING to do with a cyber transaction, but the good Samaritan story itself makes no sense (as far as being screwed).

Even the math is wrong .. you gave him two hundred but feel screwed for one hundred, for some reason.

Was his name Jack Daniels or Jim Beam?

I think I understand now. Who was it that screwed you on the brass?

To lowbud:

I think how you feel is you had a "moment of charity" and then after regretted it.

I'm sure after you handed a stranger cash you thought of 20 different ways to blow that money (and gee, ammo is just so damn expensive...)

You sound upset. I suggest you go fire off a box of 50 and then clean your gun. ;)

lol.. the point was, I would rather be stuped out of money.. ie: giving it to someone then be stole from. The two situations are different but tells the story.

The situation with the hoomeless guy was... I was willing to loose $40 to a possible lie.. but when i deemed his situation real, I wanted to do more.

The crook is on another forum. or should I say was.. he hasn't been seen since at least 3 of us sent him funds.

Hope it makes more sense now. Oh wait.. I posted that after midnight. Past muh bedtime so all bets are off as to making sense of anything I say.

Na.. the moment of charity was a good thing. I'm just ranting about crooks. Pissing away money comes easy for me. especially when shooting or playing blackjack. Both can be expensive and rewarding :D

maybe more explination on the brass situation would have cleared it up.

I am not sure the story makes any sense in relation to the headline, but it was nice of you to give some cake to the homeless type guy and his family.

Ummm...is the guy you gave the $200 to and the guy who you are complaining about stealing from you two different guys?

If so you really don't get that from the first post. Especially since 99% of the post is aobut the guy you gave the $200 too.

Judging by your second post I think you are assuming most of us know about another incident that apparently most of us don't know about...at least judging from the other post.

I really didn't think it was all that confusing but now that I'm a tad less fuzzy.. maybe it was. The "it finally happened to me is:

Needed some 38 ans 357 brass so I started browsing the forums. I found a guy in SC with exactly what I needed 1000 of each and a bounus set of carbide dies. So I sent him $100 and waited. I'm still waiting.

This was a first for me. In 15 years of buying/selling on the internet I have never been taken for a ride, until now.

The whole bit about the homeless guy was about I'm ok with being suckered out of money... just don't steel from me.

So anyway.. I started an inquiry on the USPS MO. I also emailed and called the guys local PD and Sheriff. Probably will never hear anything else about it but I wanted to make an attempt to catch this cat.

THIS IS CONFUSING....

how did he "sucker" you?

You GAVE 80 to him...then you GAVE him a 120.00 RAISE...I dont understand how he SUCKERED you???????????????

did he get a prostitute with the money? did he buy crack? did he light it on fire??

What did he do that makes you feel that your charity was anything short of a blessing to him?

Holy crap guys.. It's not about the homeless guy.

Just delete the thread. forget it.

LOL Lowbud, I finally got it after your last post.

What he's trying to say, folks, is that someone on another forum ripped him off by taking his money, and not sending his brass. He's using the story of the unemployed guy to show that he doesn't mind helping someone out, just ask, instead of lying about it.

Asking for help when you need it (homeless guy) = OK lowbud

Getting money under false pretenses (Telling someone to send you money for brass, and then not sending it after you get the money) = PO'd lowbud.

That sound about right?

This is all that was said about the brass seller in the OP and it was at the end of the story. It sounded like the guy that you gave the money to was somehow involved with stealing the money.

This part of the last explanation get's me up to speed. It would have been nice to have this info in OP.

I hope that you get your brass eventually. File a mail fraud charge with the USPS. It can be done online.
