well lets see, for starters they took the model 1911 and improved it by making it DA/SA

As a matter of fact, smith was the first company to make DA/SA autos, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Im done with you guys, have fun, I beleive I proved my point

If you think that they improved the 1911, you have NO idea what you are talking about

at least Glock can design their OWN guns, they dont need to COPY or go into agreements with everyone else so they can use other firearms manufacturers designs.

Now how ya like dem apples there Skippy?:popcorn::popcorn:

Man get a life, cocked and locked has worked for over 100 years, who the heck are you to say it is inferior to anything else. Get over yourself!

which are all the same by the way

That's a quite successful manufacturing model that Glock didn't invent. You think Ford, Chevy, Honda, or Toyota don't do the same thing with automotive components? Interchangeable parts lower production costs.

I believe Smith revolvers are 1000 times more reliable than any of glocks autos

Meh, and some people believe in "body thetans" and "Dianetics"

I beleive I proved my point

Point? You had a point?

My only question is why do Glock guys get so upset when someone poaks a little fun at the Glock.

I am no Glock guy, I own 3 and love them but prefer the 1911. However the OP of this thread has been talking out of his anus and some people just do not stand for that

really...

Do you even know what your saying, your saying S&W makes a DA/SA 1911 right?

And your also saying Smith & Wesson made DA/SA autos before Walther came out with the P-38... really? I thought there was at least 15-20 year difference there, but hey I may be wrong Im going strictly by memory.

Wow Im learning more and more every minute in this thread...

Yea, I was the same way a couple of years ago but I have to say for the money Gaston has made the best pistol out there, it took me a while to come to that conclusion, once the 21SF came out and it actually fit my hand I gave in. My 1911's that I consider to be superior cost a heck of a lot more money, the stock Glock's in my opinion better serve someone on a budget more than any other pistol out there. There is nothing wrong with that

Does anyone else think its funny that the two guys fighting are named "Glockmeister" and "SmithandWesson"? S&W you are right Glocks will break, but so will my 82lb M2HB, if you pack enough gun powder in the bullet. So in my opinion your point is mute, if you load ammo to hot it WILL blow up ANY gun. Oh and you saying that Smith has improved on other designs, especially the 1911 :rofl:. Wow you are funny....

Er... Guessing that was aimed at me?

Not a "Glock Guy" myself, although I did formerly own a 3rd Gen G19. I rarely jump in the "Glock vs. Blah" threads, but this guy was pretty much talking out of his ass.

That said, I hardly think posting a picture of a KB proves the Glock design is anything less than robust.

Gaston designed one heck of a pistol, I don't care what you're packing, you gotta admit that

Arguing that a S&W revolver is more reliable is a moot point to me. It's apples and oranges. I'm sure his S&W revolver is plenty reliable, but it isn't near the combat/duty arm a Glock is. Not even close.

I'm not a Glock fan but that's just me. I will have to say that I am impressed by the reliability of Glockmeister's Glock avatar.

The way I've got it calculated that pistol fires almost 49,000 rounds per day. I never seen it have a FTF or a FTE. Now that's a reliable pistol. :(

Pretty sure nobody is arguing that with you...

Besides, 5 people already noted that HK made the first polymer handgun before you chimed in like you discovered this fact in a secret file hidden deep beneath the sea...

Er yeah. Make that 6 people. I know for fact that HK made the first plastic pistol. :( I wasnt debating that.

The glock pistol is a marvel in modern pistol design that utilizes some of simplest mechanics of near anything else out there. I've owned a few glocks.. meh. Not my favorite... but i do appreciate the design and concept. On top of fantastic marketing there is a reason why they're one of the most popular pistols on the planet.

You mean, you dont swim in THAT sea Poak? ;)
