Well Prentice Cooper is a little out of the way, but you can't argue with the price. No shotguns, which is sort of a drag, but several stations for handgun and rifle. Pretty nice little range actually, I wasn't sure what to expect when we went up there, but it's pretty decent.

Just a thought. Then of course there's just getting people to show up, heh.

I'd love to get together with folks to shoot, and need plenty of range time to get into something other than embarrassing shape again anyway.

pc is nice for what it is.

However I've seen a couple unsafe happenings, unattended kids, and such and so on which would keep me from going back up there again.( youtube ak prentice cooper )

Also another problem with meeting at pc is who is who. Its gets a little confusing on who is there from tgo,and who is just there.

Im not real sure as to the ruls at chrpc on this type of thing. It would probably be just one to many people for their liking imo.

I think it says you need pre-approval for anything like that.

Again not sure how that works either.

If its simply a vote from members then all we need is a few tgoers to show up at a meeting.

Carters, yeah been there done that once and it sucked being confined, loud, and extremely smokey. I wouldn't want to do that again and don't think anybody else that went that day would either.

Maybe we could all just meet in brainerd and just shoot up in the air.

That's what all the home boys do and they seem to enjoy themselves :/

strickj- Well I've only been to PC once, one pair there when we got there, a family came in shortly before we left. Certainly no problems, and nice friendly folks. There are a couple other ranges around, but free is free. If I start running into anything that makes me uncomfortable, I'll look a little harder into becoming a member somewhere. Thanks for the thoughts.

TBoldTn- Now that sounds like something I could definetly check out. Where in Cleveland?

Thanks Farman, I will definitely check that out. Time and funds are a little short right now, but as soon as I can, sounds great.

Incidentally, I picked up a couple of boxes of 380 down at Grant's in Dalton and they had some more if anyone else is looking.

Welcome (belatedly). I live in the Chattanooga area also. I moved here several years ago from Charleston, TN. I didn't realize there were this many Chattanoogans on here. Makes me wonder if there are ever any shoot meets at Prentice Cooper.

Good_Steward I had just kind of been asking about that. Sounds like PC isn't really a favored venue. I'm up for it if you are :dropjaw:. Out of town this weekend or I'd be going up there too, just finally found some ammo to burn up and get some practice in with the new gun.

just gotta watch out for the meth heads up there...they've been known to walk in front of the firing line while the range is hot to try and pick up brass
