refinished 1911

This is my first 1911 I bought about 17 years ago, had many rounds through it over the years and the finish was looking pretty bad. Decided to tighten up the frame to slide fit and experiment with laser engraving before refinishing it with parkerizing, figured it was already in bad shape so I couldn't mess it up too much more.

I always loved to see these old pistols ( and all firearms ) get a new " touch up "... It's great...There used ta be quite a market for this sort of " refresh "...

I worked with a guy that had sent his beloved Browning Diana Grade 20 ga field gun back to Browning not once, but two times.聽 He loved his old bird gun that much... I'm sure a son or grandson is treasuring it now.

I'm generally not much for scratched up guns. But I gotta say that that looks good.聽馃憤

By "scratched up" you mean a lot of scroll engraving??聽 Right?
