CZ just launched their newest compact model, the Shadow 2 Carry. Borrows a lot of features of the Shadow 2 Compact but with FPB, decocker, P-09 nocturne sights, black grips, and RMSc direct mount instead of plates. MSRP $1,449.99. Thoughts?

I recently purchased the Shadow 2 Compact and had it Cajanized. A real sweet firearm. As I understand it, the Carry model added a firing pin block to enhance it for safe carry.

Seen a couple of YouTube videos on it, pretty good videos wouldn't mind getting one, just wish they would offer a better trigger rather than having to send it off to Cajun for their trigger. I like that you can mount a RMR (I think) without having to use a plate, and I like the full rail also. I'd like to find one locally so I could see how it feels in the hand.

This gun makes absolutely no sense.  Until now, “Shadow” meant no firing pin safety and by default, a better trigger.  So now CZ makes a Shadow that isn’t a Shadow.  The firing pin safety is not really necessary unless you carry hammer down instead of half cock, which only an idiot would do.  BUT if you have to have a firing pin safety and want a decocker, the P-01 is less than half the price of this gimmick.

The RMSc footprint would  include optics like the Sig Romeo 0 and Holosun EPS. You would probably need a plate for the RMR.

Understandable. I guess this is sort of a P-01 gen 2. I have a 75 Compact and if its anything like the P-01 then getting one of them would probably frustrate me just as much. I do appreciate the new Carry having a direct mount optics cut rather than the plates the Shadow 2 Compact uses. The trigger I've seen mixed readings where some reviewers say its your standard CZ trigger while some claim <4lb SA and ~7LB DA. I was planning on picking up a Compact at some point, but I prefer keeping my rear sights for cowitness so I'll probably get the Carry knowing it doesn't have as good of a trigger as any of the Shadows.

Kinda want to get one, I love my Shadow 2 for competition, but wouldn't carry it.

This carry model with the firepin block and decocker could be a winner, although the price-tag is a bit high at $1200+.

I agree. MSRP is actually $1,449.99 but I've seen a couple retailers list them for $1299. Definitely going to wait a little bit to pick one up.

I thought I read that, and figured I misread or embellished.... apparently I did not lol. Yeah I'll wait on this and the Springfield Kuna, want that too.
