Oh so pass it off to "user error" huh? What s shameful twist. Sig might as well start releasing videos on how to carry condition three. Don't get me wrong, with enough time and training, condition three or aka "Israeli carry" can be about as fast as a loaded chamber, and with the right technique does more to put someone in the mindset of moving out of the firing lane of an opposing target.

I am normally very much a believer in context being king in self defense, but this highlighted portion is unequivocally, empirically, and measurably wrong.

Can someone who is good at it beat someone in condition one who sucks, yes. But every single person has a faster and a more situationally resilient draw from condition one.

As I said, with enough training, ya know, like the kinda training a SF team gets, haha. My original comment itself was meant to be a joke. Reasons why I said, can be about as fast, even then, it doesn't beat condition one. I've seen numerous videos, and there was once a nice video that I could find where someone took some footage of the then fastest Israeli team and compared it to a low level IDPA match with slow motion. Shot times were faster with novice IDPA shooters by more than half a second on average than the fastest recorded condition three shot times at the time of the video.

I saw this posted elsewhere and others replied with other manuals; almost every one says the same thing.   Sounds more like a CYA clause that the lawyers require to be in there.

Gotcha, I apologize for misunderstanding your meaning. Its just something ive gotten into the habit of immediately addressing every time I see it.

Couple of points regarding Israeli carry.  It is primarily used as a safety issue for the untrained.  Also the handgun is essentially a backup gun for Israeli soldiers as they are normally carrying rifles. Not really transferable to civilian situations.  It also in use is much more likely to induce a malfunction/misfeed when you are forced to save your life or that of a loved one.  It also assumes one has both hands available to work the action of the firearm.  How many times is one hand occupied holding a child, carrying an object, holding a phone, etc.  Much slower and less optimal if one chooses to carry a handgun.

Did other manufacturers recently change their manuals?

Well, here is what Glock’s looks like.

The highlighted portion only warns about a loaded chamber when it’s not inside of a suitable holster. World of difference if you ask me.
