Beware of people wanting to trade gold for guns!

There may be a lesson there about selling multiple guns, quite a bit of value, using an unconventional payment means. I don't mean to imply that one shouldn't accept gold, but for a big trade it might be worth the expense of a professional evaluation.

Yes, I had someone that wanted to trade gold and I ask them to meet me at the jewelry store to test it.

The post was to be on the lookout for these guns as well, so someone does not buy them.

I honestly feel like my skills at detecting counterfeit cash are multitudes better than detecting fake Gold or Silver. Of course, I have nearly zero experience in trying and I know that there are ways, but even some of those ways can be spoofed.

Testing gold by markings and serial numbers, vinegar, nitric acid or a density test are the easiest for an individual.  If still uncertain then take it to a professional.
