Looks like we're potentially in for yet another night of severe weather tonight.  Y'all stay safe and keep your weather alert radios / smartphone apps turned up.

I'll be in the basement again.

I still kick myself for not doing a basement when we built 13 years ago. 🤦‍♂️

My butt is tight right now ! We've had a bad tornado in December 2023 that killed 4. In January 1999 one tore up our downtown area. It seems these things get worse and worse every year and I don't think it's because I'm getting older because these things always bothered me since I was a kid. Just last month we had some terrible flooding in our town too.

Can't seem to decide what it wants to do at my house. We've had some real heavy downpours with high winds, but it only lasts 10-20 minutes and then quits. That's happened several times since this afternoon. My power went out for about 20 minutes. Now its sorta settled in to a steady medium rain. I hope it stays that way.

Metro’s emergency alert system seems to work.

We were getting warnings for about three hours.  My poor dog decided that whatever the weather risk was - that was surely better than the noise all those phones were making.

She checked herself out of the safe space and went and hid in her crate.

That was another close one for my neighborhood in rural southern Williamson County.  When the alarms went off, we pulled the family into the safe room and then I went to the front and rear porches to see what the weather was really doing in my area.

I am almost positive that I saw the tendril from the rotation, backlit by lightning, as the tornado moved from southwest to northeast about 2-3 miles from me.  Since we sit on a hill, we have an excellent vantage point.  It was a legitimate "Oh wow" moment.

Well... maybe I didn't say wow.

Enough with these storms already...especially this nighttime BS. I didn't get a drop of rain this time but I still feel bad for the ones in the path of this recent outbreak. God Bless all of you.

The mountains and the plateau offer us in the East some protection, but it puts us in a big wind tunnel when spring weather kicks up.  I was raised in Oklahoma, so I got my share of tornado scares and living on the Texas Gulf Coast for many years made me no stranger to hurricane warnings.  Fortunately, my family was spared from them all.  I don't know where you can put down roots in the good ol' USA and not face the likelihood of something pulling them up.  You certainly have my prayers that God will make these devastating storms pass over you and yours.

Ontonagon,Mi-nothing but piles of snow-

From mid October till the first of June at times-

But no tornadoes or hurricanes-just Northeasters off of Lake Superior-

Looking how you described your location we aren’t far apart. I haven’t been to sleep since 5am yesterday. Had to get the family in the hiding place at 5:15 this morning. Watched coverage all night. Once they called out a neighborhood this morning I got everyone together. It was a few blocks over.

All good here in Hendersonville but the flooding is impressive - nearly the highest I've seen Old Hickory Lake.

I'm worn out today.  Last night our golden retriever climbed into bed with us and promptly claimed 3/4 of the queen size mattress, somehow.

Yikes.  Hopefully people stayed away from that kind of water.  Not worth the risk.

How did you like that 4PM storm today, then?

I was able to stand on the front porch and get a pretty wild video of it passing just north of us.  Once again.

I work off Century Court in Franklin. I called the house and told them to huddle up again. We had hail up there but my neighborhood was completely dry. I hung out in Franklin until the hail quit.

Just got out of the shelter her in Summertown. The tornado warning storm went right over us. We got some hail, heavy rain and lots of wind. It looked really ugly for a while but we made it thru without any damage. I hate this time of year.😠
