Odd question

Never thought I'd be posting this question, but news from the doc about my back has me needing to find a new way to carry.

I have been carrying IWB at 4-5 o'clock for many many years. But it seems I cant do that anymore. They even told me to carry my wallet in my left pocket from now on.

So as a right hander, I'm looking at options. With long pants I can use my ankle holster, but with warm weather coming that wont work.

I could try a left hand IWB I suppose. I'm not that concerned that it might take me a few extra seconds to draw. Not sure I'd like appendix carry.

I have a thing about printing. I mostly wear shorts and T-shirts. So OWB probably wont work.  And I'm only carrying either a small 380, or small 9mm.

Printing isn't nearly as big a deal as you think. Most people wouldn't notice if you were on fire.

Pocket carry (front) and a minimalist wallet sound like the right direction to me.

Agree with peejman. People are oblivious.

I carry in shorts and T-shirt all the time. Pocket carry, IWB and OWB. A great holster for gym type shorts with string tie is JM4 Tactical magnetic holsters. If wearing a proper belt one of my favorite holsters is UnderHand holsters OWB.

I pocket carried a Kimber Micro 380 for years in a Desantis Nemesis.

Even in lightweight dress pants, looks like a cell phone-ish thing when sitting, if anyone really notices.

Walking around, please...let people see (or not see) what they want and with reasonable concealment, you don't look armed.

Practice a bit drawing, it's different from waistband.

I have pocket carried a K frame size 7 shot 2" brl revolver for 10 years and never, to my knowledge. been made.

I always wear dark trousers or dark blue jeans, even jean shorts. Always purchase large-pocketed jeans.

Use a modified DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. By modified, I had to open the throat on the holster to accommodate the larger 7 shot cylinder. My wife resowed, on her machine, the seam I ripped out and moved over 1/4". Micro pistols (Ruger Max 9) are easier in like same holster.

I too have back trouble, and I never have noticed any discomfort as a result of right front pocket carry. Try it, it may work for you. Only drawback is drawing while seat belted in a car. I usually, when traveling, carry a pistol in the console of our truck which my wife or I can access quickly, if forced too.  We have an RV, travel a lot, and my greatest concern is fulling up in Gas Stations. When pumping we both stay in or around the vehicle until finished fueling then one always is in the truck cab on lookout with doors locked. Been doing this for 23 years. No problem.

Did have a serious problem going to my mailbox one spring morning about 9 years back. Pocket carry was sufficient in that case that I was forced into with 3 individuals intent on doing evil.

I prefer pocket carry overall due to comfort. I use to only pocket small guns (Kel-Tec P-32 and LCP), but I've also never been made with a Ruger SP101 or a Sig P365 in my pocket either. Even with dress pants in church nobody notices the Sig.

I have several good pocket holsters for different guns. But usually its a Kahr P380 or PM9. Guess I'll be trying that set up.

There may be occasions that a small OWB holster will work, I'll be trying that also.
