2nd Amendment March

JHatmaker noticed my signature and suggested I start a thread on the Second Amendment March, so here it is.

How many here have heard of this? If you haven't, it is a planned march on Washington in spring 2010 to show Congress, the president, the Supreme court, the news media and the public that we believe in the 2A and are not going to stand by while it is gutted. There are also going to be local marches all over. I urge you to check this out. We need this. I am already planning to go. Just google "second amendment march to see what is going on.

If we were to do something like this here in Nashville, I would be down for it. I think we could get a nice group together. If it was done on a Friday, I'm sure we could get some folks from East and West Tennessee to join in.

They are asking on their website how many would try to go to Washington and their state capital if it was on different days. I would really like to do both.

Already mostly discussed. Bit of polarization on the details, execution, tactics, etc.

Sorry I brought up something already discussed, but I had not seen that topic. I have to say I am a little surprised by some of the reactions. I think the recent tea parties prove that we are able to gather together and make our opinions known without going crazy. Also if anyone thinks they can get a carry permit and post to public boards like this and not have already drawn the attention of the government to themselves, they are dreaming.

The news media and the government are already coming after our guns whether we are quite or loud. I for one do not plan to go quietly into the night.

Let's stay on top of this throughout the year, and see what kind of following it creates. I'm sure as we get closer to 2010 this will get noticable attention, especially as Obama starts to make actual decisions on gun laws etc.

I think he's just going down his "to do" list right now, and pretty soon he's going to reach "Guns", and that's when it'll hit the fan...
