I was pretty terrified first time around. This time around, my main concern has been how well my first will integrate with her. It could be going...much worse! I think he'll come around. I think right now he's just waiting for someone else to come get this baby that is in our house.

I thought this might be your first one. Anyway, the trick we discovered was to make the older kid feel like he's helping. That way, he feels like a big brother and not abandoned. Have him go get a diaper, hold the little one, feed her a bottle, etc. The feeling of being helpful and needed makes the jealousy and resentment go away almost immediately.

 

The down side to this is that they will form a bond, which will soon lead to them ganging up against you!
