LOOKING TO GET A SUPPRESSOR, SOME QUESTIONS

Recommended Posts

Want to get a suppressor for a 45acp pistol, multi pistol caliber would be nice. Which ones should I consider and what shops are good to deal with? This will be my first one.

I'm in Maryville.

Thanks in advance.

Can't speak for pistols, but I've dealt with Tennessee Silencer in Seymour, good people, but this was about 3 years ago.

I got mine through Silencer Shop, but you pretty much have to have a local shop to facilitate the purchase. I happened to have a great local shop that works with Silencer Shop and it was relatively hassle free. Palmetto State is now selling suppressors and they advertise that they ship to your door, I'm unsure on how that works legally.

I did an individual trust and the ATF typically completes those much more quickly.

PSA is using Capitol Armory to ship through an in-state FFL. From what I read on the site they basically are operating the same as Griffin Armament and the other couple of manufacturers who allow you to purchase directly and transfer through CA.

Op I can't answer which specific models you should be looking at as there are so many, covering a wide variety of uses. What matters to you - price, sound, weight - aren't necessarily the same to someone else. Think about the uses cases of a dedicated suppressor or "universal" to move across pistol and rifle. Once you decide more on your use cases it becomes slightly easier to point at options.

If someone else doesn't recommend a good shop locally then check out Capitol Armory ship to your door program for sure. I've been very happy with my couple of purchases through them.

Crossroads firearms did one for me. They have the SilencerShop kiosk. They can walk you through the whole process, and they have some suppressors in stock.

+1 for Tennessee Silencer in Seymour. A friend used them in Oct. ‘24, great selection, quick and easy purchase. Less than 1 week to receive on an individual purchase.
