Personally, I think Mora knives are the best bang for your buck in all the knife world. I think I have 5 or 6 of them.

Have you folks seen the HILARIOUS takes on mora knockoffs sold by outdoor research products(walmart) and the wish.com ones....     THATS a knockoff i will not buy.

It hurts the makers when they charge an arm and a leg. My rebuttal is it helps determine if you want to pull the trigger on a $700 safe queen or not. Knives are tools in my opinion, and I'm a broke 20 something year old.

Buy a Glock FM 81 survival knife if cost is your most important consideration.  You can get a decent product and not enable the proliferation of drop shipping crap.

If I need a survival knife, I'm grabbing one of these Grand Torino creations. Both are more than adequate!

Good recommendation for @Grand Torino, but OP will probably just search TEMU for one that looks similar.

Talk about an awesome knife that if you lose isn’t worth crying over! Very much one of the “secrets” of the knife world.

You know…there’s a Glock I’ve never owned. Maybe I should try that.

If i need big and nasty I bring out the bowie. 13" of 1084 hand forged steel, 1/4" spine with lots of weight for big chops and lots of belly so it slices like a saber.  But for most task I deal with in the woods or on the farm I can handle with the Case Copperhead in my pocket or the Buck 110 Auto Elite on my belt.

I've decided I really want one of these. Maybe because it says "Glock" and that's fun enough for me? Maybe because it costs less than a typical knife purchase?

I'm heavily torn regarding the 78 vs 81. I like the sleekness of the blade profile of the 78 but perhaps that saw on the 81 could be useful? I guess it's time to watch some Youtube.

Sounds like both is the correct answer.  😁

That thought crossed my mind. About equivalent to a typical Ka-Bar, if not cheaper!

It really comes down to how you personally use a knife in the field and what else you've got in your kit.  The saw on the back performs about like the saw on any survival knife - they're mediocre and leave you wishing you had a real saw.  It'll get the job done with small stuff - but you're going to put the work in on anything over about an inch and a half.  The determining factor for me is what you're going to do with the bigger stuff.  A big knife should be able to do big knife jobs.  That means using it for batoning through bigger stuff.  I prefer a flat spine for that - because the saw will just chew up whatever you're using to baton with.

I would much prefer an actual folding saw.  If I want that on a knife - the classic Victorinox saw is second to none in that category.

I guess as long as we're talking Glock stuff - the saw on their entrenching tool is a good pattern.  It's a bit awkward to use - but I love the design of the tool overall.

Overall, the Glock knives are a bargain at around $30 on the street. People stress about blade steels and what not - but for the price - it'll perform at least as well as that $15 Mora.

No this is the evolution of that one. I made this one with my dad for some father - son bonding time a couple years back. I've still got the other one, it's laying on the shelf in my gun case.
