RIP Mr. & Mrs. Hackman. I wonder what happened to kill all 3 at the same time? Gas leak? Dog tipped over a candle? Tragic loss.

Since it wasn't foul play, I can't think of anything else that can wipe out 3 living things aside from carbon monoxide. Good reminder to keep detectors in your house and replace them every 4-5 years.

Hope they find out what happened.  It's a shame to feel even at 95 he might have been cheated out of some more time.

What a life.  Give his Wikipedia page a glance.  Lied about his age to enlist in the Marines at 16, made a mark in some prolific films, would up on Nixon's Enemies List.  Impressive at any level.

I'm also happy he got to leave Hollywood and enjoy some time of quiet reflection and peace.  Santa Fe is a beautiful area.

Peaceful rest wishes for a helluva guy.

It is reported that the carbon monoxide tests have come back negative.

My theory, for what it's worth, is that he passed away and his wife found him. He was very old and frail after all (unfortunately). Overcome with grief she swallowed a bunch of pills, then that one dog ate some of those pills too.  Either that or it's much more sinister.

I was thinking something similar accept they said the dog was in it's crate so it may have starved.

I'm not buying the suicide by pills thing, pills don't act that fast, so why would they be scattered all around her as if she died on her feet?  They say she had been dead for some time, even had her hands start mummifying.   Also, the door was open, enough to have one dog go outside, while another was just running around the house, as if someone just left without closing it behind them.

The last heart activity recorded on Hackman's pacemaker was on February 18. Meanwhile, it was revealed that Arakawa likely died a week earlier on February 11.

"Based on the circumstances, it is reasonable to conclude that Ms. Hackman passed away first with February 11 being the last time that she was known to be alive," Jarrell said.

It is unknown whether Hackman knew his wife had died.

"He was in an advanced state of Alzheimer's, and it's quite possible that he was not aware that she was deceased," the chief medical examiner said.

Yes, this is EXACTLY according to my theory, as I said on March 1.  Anyone could have predicted this.
