How much yall paying per round on reloading 9mm rn?聽

Kind of of a drift from the OP listing...

At聽CURRENT聽component pricing I recently handloaded 1000 9mm 124 gr fmj using BE-86 and SA primers.

The 124 gr fmj were "blems" from American Reloading. They cost me $0.16/rd

New non-blemished bullets could run you around $0.18/rd

The cost savings is most significant in revolver calibers:

148 gr coated WC .38 spl using TG, SA primers, and MBC bullets run me $0.164/rd

98 gr coated .32 H&R Mag using W231, SA primers, and MBC coated bullets are the same as my .38s.

The majority of my components are pre-COVID but the above is based on current pricing because we can't do time travel ... yet.

"How much y'all paying per round on reloading 9mm rn?"

I looked at American Reloading for 115 blem bullets, $80 per 1,000. Primers at my local Sportsman's Warehouse , CCI sp $98.20 with tax per 1,000. 1 lb Win 231 at SW $48.15 with tax. Total $229.35 per 1,000 reloads. Add $20 per 1,000 casings for prep from the gun range, $249.35. A savings of $7.40 or $27.40 per 1,000.

I figure 1,750 loads at 4.0 gr of Win 231 per lb, that would make the reloads a bit cheaper per 1,000.

Compared with my old stock of powders and primers using my cast 124 gr bullets I can reload 1,000 for about $40. Not adding extra for casting bullets or prep of casings.

I have been using components bought in the past year to reload coated 9mm/135 for about .15/round (not counting brass). 聽The 115 UMCs from RK would cost me .27 by the time they got to my door. 聽

Looking this morning online and local I found that Academy Sports has Monarch steel 115 gr for 9.99 per box, $213.80 per case for me. Winchester white box 115 gr for 11.99, $256.60 per case. Sportsman's Warehouse has CCI 115 and 124 gr 11.99 per box.聽

I keep telling myself it is cheaper to just buy cheap ammo. 聽I forget that I bought the components long ago when they were really cheap. 聽Tell myself that if times get hard again I can use them then. 聽Only time will tell.聽

It's getting more difficult to justify the time and cost of reloading 9mm. Or I'm getting lazy.

It is worth it if you pick up your brass or are OK with using range brass which is easy to find.

Not worth it. Primers are $7.50 to $10 per 100, Bullets are $5 and more per 100. Powder usually matches the primer cost. Add a little bit for brass prep.聽

Buying cases pmc or blazer 20 cents a round

Now if that includes shipping (I know most places charge tax) I would be interested. So feel free to post a link.

I belong to TSUSA and they will run "specials" a few times a year (thinking Black Friday sales) for Blazer Aluminum (I actually like this round) for $200.00 + TAX. Also on the New Republic 9mm (good quality round). Shipping is not an extra charge as it's a part of an annual membership fee ($99.00/year).

To me, the best thing about TSUSA membership is that there is no minimum, so I can order 1 50 round box of 9mm or .38, of a 5 round pack of buckshot and the "free shipping" applies.

But sales like that are few and far between it seems. It could be my limited cyber-skills.

I tend to shoot several thousand rounds per year, so a nickel per round savings by handloading adds up for me. YMMV

again, please post a link to these deals or a head's up for local pickup.

I'd rather shoot than handload. But I enjoy handloading almost as much as I enjoy shooting. 馃檪

My Dillon 550 has served me well since 1990 and my Lee single stage was replaced a couple of years ago after 35+ years of use.

Just thoughts on this topic.聽

Other then that follow Mr guns and gear all social platforms he list them for 20 a round all the time.

As I'm in Knoxville I will definitely check out "Mr. Guns and gear".

I know I'm thick headed... but that 20 cents/rd includes shipping?

LOL I'll go look 馃檪

@DeepSouth

I've been using SA primers for a bit more than a year, several thousands so far in my Glocks. LCR's and Smith revolvers.

They are usually $49.00/1000, Tax, no shipping or Hazmat, from Norma out of Georgia.

I know they aren't Federal, CCI, or Winchester (I'm saving those since the SA's work so well).

Powder is about 1/4 the price of primer for me. 聽

Thank you @Jpoc700

I tried some of those last year. (One of those send me a couple of boxes orders from TS). They're decent plinking rounds but some of them were "sparky". I guess burning powder a foot or so downrange. But they functioned well.

But I got Blazer aluminum for the same price so stuck with those.

Appreciated!
