Greetings everyone and thank you for this group. The title pretty much says it all. We escaped in July of 2024 and haven't looked back. We do miss our BFF's horribly, but we do not miss the laws, the politics, the taxes, the cost of gas, the cost of insurance, the cost of LIVING!

Retired from a 30YR LEO career and post retirement I worked as a sales rep for First Tactical apparel, marshalled at a golf course (Roy Roger's old home course) and since 2017 I have been a firearms instructor teaching civilians and LEO's firearms. I am a:

- NRA Firearms Instructor (Pistol,Rifle,Shotgun and CCW)

- NRA Range Safety Officer

-USCCA CCW and Home Defense Instructor

- All around good guy and smart alec!!

Congratulations on your escape!  I lived in California for a time while I was in the Corps, but it hadn't gone nuts back then. (mid-70's)  I came to TN from Washington about 5 years ago, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to move here. i hope you like it as much as I do.

Do you play racquetball? We have a small group that plays at the courts there in Cookeville.

Welcome to America !!!! I was stationed on El Toro many moons ago when CA was in much better shape. Enjoy all the intel that is available here. This is a great group with a bunch of great people (well expect for one and he left) Thanks for wearing the badge and doing what needed to be done. The new guy has to buy the first round(s)

Always room for one more good guy, especially one who respects the law and knows how to handle a piece.  I'm sure you'll make new BFFs quickly here.

Thank you Darrell for the welcome. I used to play racquetball with my deputies, but I was horrible at it. Its GREAT cardio and I did enjoy it.

Welcome indeed.  We defected from Commiefornia in June '24 ourselves.  Temporarily in Franklin, TN while we look for our forever home.  I've purchased 4 new handguns since we've been here.  I'm kinda looking forward to checking out the new Kal-Tec PR57, so if anyone reading this has any opinions on Kal-Tec, let me know.  I'm partial to wheelguns, but thought the PR57 might be a good EDC.

Welcome to the escape. Where in California did you escape from? I am assuming since you're in Franklin you did wayyyy better on selling your house than I did 🤣

I lived all over Cali during our 14 year sentence.  Santa Monica, Brentwood, Huntington Beach, Sunnyvale, Pasadena, and San Jose.  Just couldn't tolerate the intolerance, taxes, homelessness, crime, etc.  Tennessee is a breath of fresh air.
