MSRP is on the S&W website. 849 for the 36, 979 for the 10 and 1099 for the 19.聽 I'm glad to see new no locks but you can get dandy almost LNIB examples of all 3 of those guns for less than the MSRP. Hopefully street price is a bit lower and this is the beginning of the end for the lock

It's a start.聽 I'm actually kinda digging the Model 10 Classic with half-moon sight, tapered barrel, pre-war style ejector rod, and smooth stocks.聽 They are built on modern frames designed for the lock so they still look kinda goofy.聽

I won't be a customer, but glad they are making them for those interested.聽 Maybe it will start a trend of getting away from those locks.

I have a 610 and a model 686-6 + with locks-

I have had zero problems with either revolver and think I probably never will-

I haven't actually talked to anyone that's had a problem so I kind of wonder if the whole lock thing is because of some butt hurt over the S&W caving into the feds a couple of decades ago-

Great to see. But maybe a little too little, a little too late for me to buy another.

Thank Colt. 聽I think this is a direct response to sales losses as Colt鈥檚 recent revolvers are great and they truly stand behind them. Smiths problem is not just the lock. 聽Their declining quality and non existent service for revolvers are the larger problems.

As far as the lock, I did have a lock freeze up the action on my 686. It was either the first or second year of the lock, maybe contributed. happened right away out of the box. S&W fixed it and has been trouble free over 25 years. Old smith service. It鈥檚 聽a great gun

Would love to hear them acknowledge and work on those bigger concerns. That is how they will win back those that have gone elsewhere seeking higher quality guns at their premium prices.

Ok, so they eliminated the lock.聽

You still have a two piece barrel, MIM parts, a frame mounted firing pin plus the QC problems that have plagued S&W for the last 20 years or more. So what's the big deal?聽

I do admit, I am digging the looks of the new Model 10. Damn fine looking gun there with some nice older features. Very nostalgic.聽 But I already have several older Model 10s and M&Ps. I'll wait until they've been out for a while and get some real world reviews before spending any money.聽

OMG, the 19 is gorgeous

Now that I have a Kimber K6, S&W has to bust my walnuts with something I want as well.聽 Wonder if the triggers are any good out of the box.

Anyone want to purchase my cat?

That's the current production Model 19 Classic. It does have the lock.聽

The no lock guns aren't available yet.

I liked the old ones. I have owned several over the years. Most are gone now I sold or traded them over the years. Gave a couple to my daughter.聽
I would only buy a good used one the new ones are too expensive and the quality isn鈥檛 the same.聽

I guess I am stuck in the 70s, I was thinking I paid about $250 for a S&W revolver back then. The new ones are way out of my price range.

$250 back then is the equivalent of way over $1000 today. 聽Yeah, get out of the past.
