Best 9mm ammo

It's hard to reload and save over their cost. Range USA has Midwest Reloads for $14 per box buying a box of 250. $70 per large $69.99, regular price $99.

Watch for sales at Academy. They occasionally run their Monarch Brass on a special. Usually it's the 250 ct boxes for ~50'ish. Works out to about $10-11 per 50. It won't win many target competitions, but it's accurate enough for plinking and always goes BANG for me.

For plinking ammo I buy factory reloads, usually 1000 rounds or so at a time in bulk via internet.  I have used several companies and usually try to time my purchase till they offer cheap or free shipping sales.  Not what you asked for but if you're interesting I will dig out the last couple of companies I have bought from.  I have had very few misfires.  Carry ammo different source and a lot more expensive.

Just purchased Winchester Bonded Nickle Plated Jacketed H P 147 grain Self Defense ammo 500 rounds for 239.00 from SG Ammo. Free Shipping but plus Tax. Good price for Self Defense ammo. I like a heavier bullet in my self-defense ammo.

Edited to add; I also get Winchester White box 115 gr RN for practice. Usually pay 259.00 per thousand  tax free shipping  form S G Ammo. they ship UPS to my door usually in 3 days.

I can be much help on location, but I’ve got food for thought.

I’ve gone nearly full circle, from buying the cheapest steel crap I could find, to reloading in bulk even cheaper, to buying bulk, new, brass only.

If you are buying individual boxes, you aren’t saving much money even with a good deal. Therefore I recommend shooting a box of the defensive rounds in your carry gun and finding a brand that shoots to the same zero. Now that brand is your practice ammo, and your holds will be predictable if you ever need it.

Just my two cents.
