Nylon 66 pricing?

Guys: I'm thinking about selling my childhood .22. Its a well used Remington Nylon 66 (post-68). Its missing the front site and rear windage screw. Has a small amount of pitting and normal scratches and such. I'm hearing that these things have become very collectible. Anyone have any thoughts on what I should be asking. Thanks, Mark

To not derail topic, from what I remember discussions on RimFireCentral, guessing $175 absolute tops for yours, but perfect collision between you and the perfectly timed frothing buyer I guess could get more, as is always the case with any shootin iron.

a few months ago there was a buying frenzy for the nylon 66, reason i noticed is that my dad has one. and it was NOT uncommon to see it sell for $300 and a few went for $350 that i saw. i even saw one set with the nylon 66 and the mohawk IAC go for $700 the 66 is tube fed and the IAC is box mag fed.

id say around $200 for yours after you fix the sights

I sold my Apache Black and Chrome one last fall for $300. I think I had $75 in it. Good return on my money. Hadn't shot it in years, so don't miss it.

i made my dad keep his, or either sell it to me. he said that if somebody had walked up and offered him $100 he would have sold it not knowing what it was worth. i think it is a super fun gun to shoot

I have the black & chrome one. Bought it when I was 10 or 11 from my grandfather for $50. I am handing it to my son this year & will skin him if he even has a thought. As far as price check out Nylonrifles.com. If you don't try to retire off it let me know how much.

What color and make is it ? The black and chrome ( Apache Black ) are probably the most popular, followed by the Mohawk Brown ones. The also made a couple of variants with a green stock and even a lever action model which are pretty rare.

They produced a ton of those rifles so collectibility is pretty limited to mint condition rifles. The green ones were the least produced (I think). Brown was produced more than green or black. So a brown one with missing parts and pitting wouldnt really be considered collectible. Now that doesnt mean it wouldnt bring alot more than it sold for new, it just means it isnt going to bring any high dollar amount.
