Homicide on my street

The police are still on scene. Detectives and CSI were there for a few hours. They taped off the street for a while so no one could get in or out of my street since it's a dead end street. I never thought I'd see something like this in my lifetime but you never know what life has in store for you.

It's just a totally sad situation.  I feel for the family. I also feel for the detectives who have to notify the next of kin. I'm sure it never gets any easier for them no matter how many investigations they have been a part of.

Ya never know what might happen. I live in a nice quiet neighborhood. Yet a couple of years ago there was a shooting right down the street. In this case it was a disagreement between a man, his ex-wife and her new boyfriend. Apparently an argument turned into gun fire. The shooter was caught quickly and the victim survived.

No place is safe anymore. 😧

No one is safe for sure. I walked to my mailbox a few years back and came within a hare of getting the life beat out of me in my own front yard. Had i not been armed, and had the mindset to protect myself, no telling what would have happened.

My neighbors had heard what sounded like a woman scream about an hour prior but didn't think much of it. It was thought that he had killed a woman but the latest news report is that the he decapitated his dad with a knife. He was covered in blood and ran up to a neighbor doing yard work saying his dad was trying to kill him. I watched as the police arrested him at gunpoint and other officers trying to kick the front door of his house open. They went around to the unlocked back door and found the body inside. When I saw them putting up the yellow tape, we knew it was bad.

Really sad....crazy things are happening all around us for little or no valid reason most of the time. Some people still question concealed carry.

My mother in law had a neighbor that died and it wasn't reported. The people in the house kept collecting the social security checks for months. The body was in the home the entire time. Happened in Maury co.

Damn man!

So if the son was saying “he had to protect the kids”, you immediately think of child abuse…. I’ve seen it many times in a former life, and have to ask the OP if you know whether the son had children? Not saying it would make it OK, but it would explain a bit.
