Question for M&P 40 shooters/reloaders

Hey, I recently got a chance to do my first shake down on my new M&P 40 full size.

In the process of loading my brass in the tumbler, I noticed that the brass had a small ding about 3/4 of way up from the head rim. Nothing big, but there non the less. Maybe not on every round. Not bad enough not to use the brass.

Does anyone else's M&P do this?

That's common for a lot of auto loaders. It's normally where the case whacks the edge of the ejection port as it is flung out of the chamber on ejection. I don't have an M&P40, but my Sigma did it most of time, and you'll see that on almost all .45 brass shot out of a 1911. Upon resizing it should iron out, and it's not really anything to worry about.

Happy shooting!

Yea, I've seen that on some guns. Just wondering what others are seeing on their M&P's.

My son's MRI Baby Eagle 40 brass is always clean as a whistle. It's one of the farthest brass throwing pistols I've seen. Also, the chamber is supported so well on that gun that some of the unsized brass will push into the size gauge.

Try that with a Glock. Glock brass looks like it's 8 months pregant. :D

I've had a Baby Eagle 40 for about 9 years now. To this day I still have no idea where the brass goes! :D
