Updated 12/13/2024.  Just got a text from Kathy and Jim passed away this morning.

AuEagle (Jim) has been fighting some serious health issues for the last year or so.  He fell recently and broke his hip.  He has not been able to bounce back from the fall and surgery with everything else going on.  He went into hospice last week.

He hadn't responded to my texts the last couple of days so I knew something was up. I just spoke to his wife this morning and he doesn't have long left.

Please keep him and his wife Kathy in your prayers for a peaceful passing.

Jim and I have been friends for many years and I was at his house just a couple of months ago.  He told me then he was at peace and ready whenever God called him home.  The fall was unexpected and basically just moved the timeline up some.

It's been a tough couple of weeks.  Another dear friend who was my office manager for years and a 2nd momma to me found out she had brain cancer 4 months ago.  She went into hospice yesterday.  I visited with her this morning.  I am always amazed how fast an illness can move.

This is a reminder to tell the people important in your life what they mean to you now.  Things can change in the blink of an eye.

Prayers sent for both, all one can do in a time like that is to remember the good times you've had with that person.

Sorry to hear this.  Chatted with him and met up a time or two. He always wanted to check my collection of ammo, we never got around to it.  Prayers for Kathy and Jim and their family. May God watch over them and give them peace.  Amen

The wife and I are close friends, too.  Although you wouldn't hear him complain, we know that he is giving it all he's got to overcome his health afflictions and fights the good fight of faith every day.  May God multiply His grace upon Jim and Kathy as we all pray for a victorious outcome.

I texted him a few days ago and he is at peace with his situation. He knows his Savior is waiting to welcome him. I had the pleasure to share a pot of coffee with him a few weeks back at his house. A wonderful, knowledgeable man.

I picked up a few things from Jim over the years. Would drive to their house, we would sit and talk for hours.

Damn this hurts

Prays to Jim and and the family.

Yes he is at peace and ready to go.

I learned more about 308 and 12ga from him than I would have ever thought possible. I have an abundant supply of 308 and 12ga, reloading notes, etc etc etc from him also. Some great conversations in his basement.

Yes it hurts. I know those long conversations well. 2 or 3 times a week I'd get a text from him asking how I was doing and he was praying for me.

I pray his final days are surrounded by the people he loves and he finds comfort in the hands of the Father.

So sorry to hear this. Met him a couple times and had a good conversation in his basement when I was getting started reloading. Really helped me out. Will keep him and his family in his prayers.

This is heartbreaking to hear. Anyone that has had the pleasure of meeting Jim and talking with him about life know what a great person he is. I can't believe it's been almost 6 months since I last talked to him. He shared his situation, and I was struck with the poise and grace he had in accepting what may be coming. His thoughts were not for himself, but for Kathy and his family.

Prayers for his family. I hope for them the same peace he has.
