My Weight Loss Journey

You are looking good Rob. Clothes do get expensive. I have gone from 5xl to 2xl and xl in shirts and in pants from 48 to 38. I have spent more on clothes in the last 10 months than I have in the last 2 years.

I know from experience how much better (and colder) you feel!

I did the same thing with compounded semaglutide at my doctor's recommendation (no insurance) & dropped from 285 to 205, 44" waist to 34.

I'm sure your doc already told you, but before you reduce your dosage, start making a food journal. Literally write down every single thing you eat. As you come down, refer back to your journal & treat it like a recipe book. It's really, really easy to add an extra ounce or two of food, here & there without even realizing.

Stay strong Bill! The effort is absolutely worth it!

It does get kinda spendy buying new clothes though, doesn't it?! 😄

That's fantastic! Might be time to start into some exercising. I'll bet you'll be surprised by how strong you are. You can't be a weakling carrying nearly 400lbs around all day.

Once I started losing the weight I started walking in the neighborhood. Before it got cold I would walk 3 miles 2-3 times a week. I just get to cold to walk now in the evenings. Need to start going back to Planet Fitness to walk.

Get a couple pairs of dumbells and do some basic barbell exercises.  Simple body weight exercises can go a long way to building muscle tone.

Hit another milestone today.  199.6 lbs when I weighed myself this morning.  I believe this is the first time I have been under 200 lbs since high school.  I am close to being literally half the man I was when I started losing weight 13 months ago.

That’s amazing my friend. I can’t imagine how much better you’ve got to feel.

And, while you certainly don’t need validation from anyone else - but because we don’t say it nearly enough - man, I’m proud of you.  That’s taken a ton of commitment.

I certainly can't argue with results.  I'm 290 lbs. and married to a nurse.  Sometimes I head to the refrigerator and she looks at me as if I'm a sheep-killing dog.  It does take discipline and you've got a great head start, K-Man.  Prayers and blessings to you!

That's impressive.

I'm down from 226.8ish to 167.8. It's taken me quite a bit longer and I had to learn a few hard lessons. I'm trying to hit 160-164. Hopefully next month.

I’ve been 280 for years.  Primarily due to a few illnesses and mounjaro, I’m down to 245.  I am trying to at least keep it there, but my goal is to get as close to 200 as I can. When I was in the military, I was always very close to my max weight even with very little fat.  My doc says well, that’s not the best way to lose weight, but we will take it.  LOL.  I was prescribed mounjaro for my diabetes, not for weight loss. Oh, and I started with Trulicity, but had to cycle through a few different manufacturers products due to the way they became unobtainium due to people getting them for weight loss, LOL.
