Magpul stock for Ruger American 308?

Has anyone tried one of these stocks? I have 2 Ruger American 308 compacts, and was thinking about getting the Magpul to put on one.The last one I bought is a 2014 model and the fore end has less space( not floated as much ) between the barrel and for end.The other one my daughter hunts with I bought in 2022. Do you think the Magpul stock are worth the money?

I have one on my American. It started out as a .308 but I've since changed the barrel to a heavy custom 6.5 creedmoor. The stock is a good bit heavier than the original but I was going for that. If you are going for a lighter package, maybe look elsewhere. But, if you want a nice stick to soak up some recoil, you'll like the Magpul.

I have one as well on my Ruger American 308 and I do like it.  it is for sure heavier but also much more rigid and customizable.  Given the price of stock/chassis upgrades it seems to be a good value and fix a few problems the factory stock had.

I have one on my 223 and yes, like everyone said, it's heavier but solid. I just ordered the Field stock from MDT for one of my Gen2's. I like the Field stock and at the moment it's on sale for $200!!  Fits gen 1 and gen2.

I looked at MDT’s website. I like the looks of those. Can you use the factory Ruger magazine or do you have to use theirs? Which one do you think would be the better stock?

I have both stocks and I ordered another MDT if that says anything? The MDT uses AICS mags, the polymer ones are not expensive and they feed perfectly. The Magpul has 2 versions, one with AICS and the other Stanag mags. The STanag are the 223 sized AR mags. So with 308 you'll probably need new magazines whichever route you choose. The MDT currently $100 cheaper on sale would allow you to buy a mag and still come out on top.
