I drove down to the Oupost Armory today and I have to say, WOW! It's a great store, lots of on hand selection of everything, friendly staff, (I met Mike from TGO) and a good lunch. Picked up a box of .380 jhp 90 for my sisters Bersa. This is definently a go to store. My apologies to whoever had to wipe down the display cases after I left. ;)

BJ, the 380's are self defense rounds (JHP) and thus more expensive than standard FMJ rounds. Outpost has them listed at $49.99 for 50, which is on par with the Remington JHP version on various websites for $22 (25 rounds)

Just curious but do you work at the Outpost? It seems every post that mentions them you always reply either in defense or as a cheerleader for them. Just curious to what affaliation you have with the outpost.

Nah I don't have any affiliation with the outpost, never actually been in there. I post that explanation anytime someone asks:

a) to give them information they asked for

and

:screwy: because I made the mistake of thinking it was way overpriced when I first saw that price, then Sherman kindly pointed out to research my prices on JHP .380 ammo and turns out he was right, that stuff is indeed pricey.

Definitely not a cheerleader for them, have had a post or two deleted when it came to the Outpost lol

josh, that is not just pricey, it is robbery in my opinion. I told the guy in the gunshop in Winchester about the price and he told me he would rather tell me he was out of ammo than sell it for 50 bucks a box. Just passing on linformation also. BJ:D

Lol shoot, if your dealer sells JHP rounds for less than $1/round buy as many as you can as that's a good deal imo. If they were UMC target shooting loads, I'd agree that $50 for 50 is way much. Anything over $25 for 50 would be robbery.

A certain outdoor chain store is selling 25 Remington JHP for $22/box + $6 shipping, making it over $1/round. Those are retail prices, not jacked way up prices.

Of course, this could spawn the debate on whether there is enough penetration in a .380 JHP to carry compared to a .380 FMJ :screwy:

I'll be heading out to the Outpost soon to check everything out, I hear great things.

I'm also out of .380 so I need to pick up a couple boxes.

What are their hours? Can't find them on their website...maybe I'm just overlooking them?

BJ, $50/box of 50 for jhp's That's on par with what I've been finding 357 jhp's for. JH, Sorry, I didn't think to look at the hours. Not sure if they're open on Sundays. Their phone # is 615-867-6789

See below.

Thanks, I've got all that, but no where on their webpage does it list hours of operation, and they have no voice mail on their phone number either, just rings...

Guess I'll just call sometime tomorrow afternoon and see if someone picks up.

Went by there today, great store. It takes a lot to impress me, and I was extremely impressed. Picked up some .380 and a new holster, but would love to have brought home one of their AR's.

Great store and great prices!

I was only impressed by the ammunition inventory.

The customer service SUCKS just like any other place where there is too much BS-ing and no actual customer service.

I had to ask between the war stories being swapped if it was ok if I bought a gun.

What made me even more upset I went back a couple of hours after spending $800 and wasn't asked if I needed any help. I mean WTF?! I was going to buy another gun but couldn't get service.

I could get treated like a bum at stores closer to my house.

I looked around and seen one young male employee showing off his quick draw technique and the same older male employee who took my money earlier still swapping war stories.

I wish I had a pile of fake money to leave that matches the service at these retail stores that feel my purchases are inconveniencing their social time.

Oh, and another thing about employees using their Cell Phones . . .

Interesting, that was nothing like my experience, I was asked over and over again if I needed to see anything by several different sales people.

On another note, what kind of firearm did you get??

Went down there a few Sundays ago and was greeted and asked constantly if I was interested in anyting. Really nicefolks and enjoyed the selection to say the least.

Needess to say I was a bit embarrased to say it had been 20+ years since I had been inside of a gun store (or a gun show) of any kind :blush: Just call me a recycled gun-virgin...:tinfoil:
