Sig Mosquito Magazine

I was noticing that that my wife's Mosquito doesn't lock back when the mag empties. I found that the when I pull the slide all the way back on an empty mag, 8 times out of 10 it keeps closing shut with little or no help from me. Does anyone else have this problem? Defective magazine? Those things are very expensive. They seem to run about $50 each.

I found mags at the williamson co gun show for $29 ea. But I think your issues are with the slide release. Check with your shops gunsmith.

I think I had that problem once with the stiffer recoil spring installed using lower velocity ammo.

But at any rate I see this is about a week old thread......so have you found the problem yet?

ETA;yeah, those mags are seriously high, but I have managed to find some online for around the 35~ish range.

Still allot less then the 50,but still way too much for my cheap butt to pay for a 10 rounder!

Yep, me too. It's not the recoil spring. It slams shut with an empty mag if I pull the slide all the way back by hand. It has to be the slide release or the magazine, but I'm no gunsmith.

This is where I got my 2 spares from. I was having mag problems, but not like yours. Using the factory mag, and shooting CCI mini-mags, the 10 round would "eject" out when the 9th round was shot.

Got 2 replacement mags and they don't have that problem.

Might be interesting to compare the followers in the bad mag and a good mag.
