Andy Taylor’s Rifle Rack

I know there’s gotta be some Andy Griffith Show fans around here.  Has anyone ever noticed that the rifles in the gun rack of Sheriff’s Taylor’s office changed every show?  I did years ago, but just now finished watching “The Loaded Goat” for the umpteenth time and the hardware changed in the middle of the show!

I never noticed it changed mid show before but I remember it changing from episode to episode. I like how a length of wood and a lock was all the security the rack needed lol

I’m a certified gun nut, yet somehow I never paid attention to that detail. Now I have something new to drive my wife nuts with. She said “thanks.”

He also had a ham radio for communications. I had the same model Eico HF rig for many years, though I now forget the model number.

and Opie's rock never hits the water.

Story is Ron Howard couldn't get the rock to the water, so they had a guy hiding in the bush to the right throw a rock. If you watch you'll see a delay and a projectile from a different angle in the scene.

I have watched all the episodes many times. I did look the rifle rack over. But I didn’t know the change in the exploding goat episode.
In the early episodes I noticed that they stated Barney and Andy were cousins but never seem to reference that again in later episodes.
