It looks great. I find that the older I get, the more I am interested in earlier period firearms. My brother is itching more than I am to get something like that. Have fun.

That is some pretty wood! love it.. are you going to shoot some of the cowboy long range matches with it?

Is that a Marlin 336T you have next to it?

.45 is the caliber 2 7/8ths is the length of the case. The 2 7/8ths case will hold between 106 and 110 grains of black powder depending on what bullet is used. The gun with it is an Marlin 1895 cowboy in .45 2 1/10ths or in .45-70 if you prefer. Yes I have shot it. Its sporting.
