Supposedly she called & conceded, she's supposed to address the nation at 4;00 EST.

Thanks! Turned it on, got some popcorn in the microwave. Darn, too early for bourbon

On another note-- I watched the Daily Wire Team's livestream election coverage-- that was a hoot!

All the polls said she was ahead. The just kept saying that on the news. Polls are useless, IMO.聽

Edited to add; her concession speech was the same old useless Rederick she has been saying all along. Sounded like a cheerleader at a game. That is why she was not elected. She really said nothing.聽聽

You apparently weren't paying attention to the right polls.聽 The high-quality polls during the last week all said it was too close to call; Nate Silver, probably the best pollster we have now, said it was within the mathematical margin of error, but his gut feeling was Trump would win.聽 Trump got 50.5% of the popular vote.

Harris and Biden both gave calm, reasonable, and gracious concession speeches.聽 (If Biden had spoken that well at the debate with Trump, he would have been the party's nominee.)聽 They accepted their loss like adults and agreed to cooperate in the transition.聽 What would you have preferred for them to say?

I stand corrected Whisper. Should have stated, up until the last week, where they did say it was close. I watch NBC ABC and CBS, and all are left leaning, IMO.聽

Glad for the clean/clear transition of power, as you stated, it should be. Trump should have done the same. Personally I would not have voted for Harris because of her stand on the second and the constitution.聽

I agree totally with all of this.

There were many ways to read or perceive Harris's concession. And I trust one's lense is influenced by many factors. I won't debate anyone's take, that is theirs to own.

She spoke well for the most part. She ticked boxes I expected. Threw pointed barbs with less provoking, carefully worded phrasing... as expected. And a promise of cooperation, as expected, having no other choice without being obviously hypocritical.

However, she was speaking directly to her supporters only,聽 not the nation or the other 51+ % as was evident in many sections and "this is not what you voted for".

While giving lip service to transition so the can make reference of the 'tyranny' of 4 years ago...again a barb expected. The calls for fighting and active resistance from the usual sanctimonious position of the democratic party.聽 They will fight for constitution... AFTER they kill 2A (having called out the need for gun control) and shape it to what they and her supports feel it should be, not what the nation thinks it should be.

Interpretations are subjective. I would not call what I saw gracious exactly. Rather a well structured product of some smarter people than those that were running (which she presented well). With notice they they will be coming in 4 years and will be resisting the entire time.

Game on.
