RCBS Bullet puller to the rescue

Recommended Posts

Thought I messed up and double charged a 9mm round.  Talking on the phone instead of paying attention.  I was having a little temporary issue with my LNL reloader but had a system to measure each round…. just did not recall specifically doing so on one case.  So I had about 50 rounds to check.  Bought a RCBS collet bullet puller.  Great product pulling coated flat nose bullets.  No damage to bullets, full recovery of all components.
As it turned out…no double charge, but better safe than sorry.  I’ve always said one can’t save money reloading if you blow your gun up and/or injure yourself and accumulate medical bills along the way.

Pulling loads is one way, I use a scale to find the heaver rounds.

Not certain that will work in all circumstances.  Pistol loads may only use 3 - 4 grains of powder.  Brass will vary more than that.

I have a Franford Arsenal bang it on the cement type puller-very not fun when it's more than a couple of rounds-

You say the RCBS collet puller works good-I guess I need to check into one of them-

I also use a impact puller, kinda nerve wrecking the first few times you use one.
