Opinions of LaRue Triggers?

I want to replace the trigger in my DPMS AR-10 .308.  It's a decent rifle apart from the trigger, which is awful.  The rifle was inexpensive, so I don't want to spend half of what I paid for it on a new trigger, but the LaRue products seem to get pretty good reviews and are priced reasonably.  Has anyone here installed a LaRue trigger into their rifle, and what do you think of it? I'm looking at the two-stage trigger.

Thanks!

Most folks generally love the 2S. I've heard many say its on-part with the SSA-E. And it's extremely unpopular not to rave about them, similar to all things Ed Brown (as I found out).

I have a couple of them. I tried the first one. I did not find that one on-par with my SSA-E's. It's fine. It's less than $100, and I think that helps the opinions. Production variation possibly, I understand some can take break in.

Absolute improvement over milspec, good price point for a quality made product. Maybe a hair over-hyped (flame suit on) compared to the benchmark triggers folks like to compare it to. I'd say buy the SSA-E during the blem sale or the super sales Geissele occasionally has. Black Friday is coming.... they will likely be around $135ish. Worth it IMO.

I admit, I am a trigger snob.

All that said, I know where you can get a deal on a MBT-2S. Only installed one and dry fired a few times 😄

I am a huge fan of the LaRue MBT and own several.

They aren't quite as cheap as they were a few years back but still an excellent value.

Lots of folks like the Geiselle triggers, I have used a couple of their models and they are excellent, but going to be priced higher than the MBT.

I have a MBT in my M&P-15. Its much better than the stock trigger and was reasonably priced. No its not one of the expensive super triggers, but it works just fine for me. 😉

All of my AR platform guns have a LaRue MBT2S in them. It’s an excellent trigger that will be better than 95% of shooters will be able to utilize.

The story about how it came about is funny as #### to me as well. Geiselle used to buy components from Mark LaRue with the understanding that he wouldn’t make them himself.

Then he did.

So Mark LaRue began to make triggers as good as Geiselle to compete with Big Trigger and priced well under his simply as a troll.

Mark LaRue is absolutely my kind of asshole. 😂😂

I have the Larue MBT2S and the Geissele SSAE. Larue wins on value but the Geissele is a better trigger.

Geissele is on sale right now for $123 (minus 10% if you sign up for their text alerts). It is well worth the extra 30 bucks or so compared to Larue

This is the kind of clever you don't get on just any forum.

I installed a LaRue MBT-2 S (Thanks Erich!) into my AR-10 today. I've not live-fired it yet, but my dry-fire impressions are good. The original Mil-spec trigger was rough and had a pull-weight too high for my taste. The LaRue is smooth and has a reasonable pull-weight.  I'm hopeful of finding some time tomorrow to give it a real test.

I've got one Geissele and a several MBTs. I think the G trigger may be a hair better but not worth the price difference. All my rifles are hunting or home defense guns so the Larue is more than enough for me and of course much better than a mil-spec. I know their are better triggers for long range precision shooters but I don't believe they'd serve me any better than what I have.
