Unloaded gun??

I stick strictly to the gun safety rules, and I would never point a gun at a target I did not intend to destroy.

Having said that, if I personally remove the magazine, rack the slide, and inspect the barrel - the gun is unloaded.

An unloaded gun has NEVER shot anyone, because it is physically incapable of doing so.

People are human, they screw up and THINK or ASSUME a gun is unloaded (mistake 1). They POINT the gun (intentionally or not) at a target they do not wish to destroy (mistake 2). The booger hook is on the bang switch (mistake 3).

Remove any one of those mistakes and a ND shooting is avoided. Remove ALL of those mistakes and you are a responsible and safe gun handler/owner.

What's amazing is this guy continued to try and give his talk after firing. I like when he says, "Now see, I probably won't ever be able to show guns again."

Nawww, really?

"Always assume the gun is loaded."

When handling a gun, I always remove the mag and check the chamber (even if told or shown it's empty). I went into a gun shop the other day, and was surprised the clerk didn't drop the mag and pull the slide as any other store has. I have just always thought it "common courtesy" for them to show you it's not loaded. And wordsworth, that is my belief also..."Always assume the gun is loaded."

Not much funny about this clip - the gentleman assumed a leadership and authoritarian role without satisfying the all of the prerequisites.

Dereliction of Duty with Gross Negligence would be the charge.
