Why not more open carry?

Recommended Posts

Opinions abound on everything. I prefer a nice leather holster OWB. When I need/want to be more discrete I use IWB or pocket (with a pocket holster). I moved here from Hellinois where you were a criminal if you even printed.

I do my best to be aware of my surroundings and don't walk around with earbuds in or staring at my phone.聽 Open or concealed does not matter to me. Have I seen both that made me cringe? Yes.聽

I have also transitioned away from striker fired pistols to SA/DA but that is another discussion to upset people.

On a side note, I got an email from TFA about a local meeting and they asked that nobody OC because everybody may not support your rights. 聽I found it odd that the people advocating for long gun carry don鈥檛 want you to OC a handgun at their meetings. 聽

So much for crime prevention:

So much wrong with this video. First guy using his armpit as his holster, victim using his back left pocket as his holster, and the thugs walk in with an AR pistol visibly protruding out of one of their backpacks. Then the victim tries to negotiate instead of GTFO of there. Even the bystanders didn't seem to endangered enough to get out of there as well.聽 Open carry has so much more risk involved than concealed.

Right, but I don鈥檛 think a holster would have made a difference. 聽At least not one like the jackwags OCing around here use. 聽
