.22 bolt action or precision oriented rifle

Looking for a precision oriented .22. Trying to build something my son can shoot, but that I can also scale up for some of the boys in his Trail Life troop could shoot when we teach marksmanship, so ideally something with some adjustment in the stock. Or something I could put in an adjustable stock/chassis.

⚠️ Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers ⚠️

  • Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with.   Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete.  Your experience will help others.

  • Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun!  None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction.  They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns.  DON'T DO IT.

  • Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO.  Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye.

I'm not selling mine, but I just came in from putting 100 rounds or so through my Ruger Precision Rimfire. I really enjoy this rifle, it's very accurate and it has some of the adjustability that you seem to be seeking. Bolt-throw, butt-stock length and comb-hight, and trigger pull are all easily adjustable. The price for a new one is fairly reasonable, too.

Good luck with your search!

Semi-auto, bolt, lever or pump?

scope or iron sights?

Mostly interested in a bolt, but would consider a semi auto. Never seen a precision oriented and adjustable pump or lever action, but I guess that’s not off the table.
Want something I can put a scope on, but doesn’t have to come with a scope.
