My biggest bear

Harvested my biggest bear last week in Maine. Was able to trap him with a snare and take him with my TC Contender 30-30 pistol. The boar weighed 333lbs.

The biggest white tail I've killed field dressed around 135# and I was gassed after dragging it about 1/2 mile to the truck, over 2 fences, and loaded into the bed. Sometimes elk/sheep hunters hike miles up into the mountains. 3

Probably dumb questions, but:

How do they get that carcass out of there? How did you get this beast up onto a SXS or into a truck bed to haul it home?

You bone it in-place and just pack out the meat and the head.

I didn't know that, thanks. I bet that forces them to leave a lot behind.

I only say that because it often took my dad and I HOURS to process a deer at home where we have the best equipment and table tops.

That's a big boy! But I had no idea that's a legal hunting method.

We put him in a sled and a few of us got him out that way. The bait site wasn't to far from the logging road.
