ok,time to ask yall resourceful members,my cousin just gave me a stevens model 86d rifle,it will take 22 short, long or long rifle,he told me that when you load the magazine tube and pull the bolt back instead of the shell going into the chamber it will eject it,the inside magazine tube is bent so the spring will not work so i need a source for parts and maybe some suggestions on what else may be wrong. It shoots fine as a single shot.I know for sure i need a magazine tube because this one has been bent possibly by pliars, but the price was free so i cant complain. Thanks for your help, john

Steven rifles are handled by Savage Arms. Maybe look at their website or contact them about parts.

I bought a Stevens Model 62 a while back on the cheap from a pawn shop. It is a fairly good shooter.

roger that, this thing shoots like a dream,i searched it and couldnt find much,i just wondered if someone had a favorite place they go or some place i didnt find, thanks for the reply, john

Try Numrich (e-gunparts.com, I think - google it) for parts.

Mike

i tried that and they didnt show anything,so i guess my next move is to take it to a gun smith and see if they can make me one, what do yall think, john

I don't want to advertise another forum here but if you do a search for rimfire forums there are some very good ones that focus on .22 & .17.

I was looking at one last night that has a section just for vintage Stevens/Savage and they appear to have some very good threads on locating parts.
