Photo comparison: KCI vs OEM Glock magazines

I came into two NEW KCI 15rd Glock 9mm magazines.

I'd heard some 50/50 things about them online, but worth a shot to try out, already have 3 OEM ones.

First thing they loaded like crap. On the first one, it jammed and I couldn't load more then 9rds in. I tried using the Glock speedloader to see it that would help, maybe the new springs were just tough and when you pressed the back of the round the nose of the bullet would go stay up and the rear of the casing would go down. So I took the mag apart and bent the spring slightly so the pressure would be a little bit more even. Then I reloaded it, this time it took all 15rds.

I've shot around 90 rounds so far through end of them and so far have fed just fine. I'm only really going to be using these two for the range and IDPA.

For self defense carrying I plan to stick with the OEM ones.

Here is a side by side picture comparison of the two magazines.

I've got 6 of them and they all work great. They are stiff at first but load them and let them sit for a while and they will be fine. The only thing I don't care for is the little metal tab at the top front of the mag body. That little booger is sharp and is irritating when they are new.

Are these things significantly cheaper than Glock factory mags? I can order Glock mags all day long from CDNN (used and new) or from any number of other online retailers and most gun shops have plenty of Glock mags in stock as well.

There are some things I'll cheap-out on and some things I won't. Mags aren't one of them.

CDNN is great but you gotta factor in the $15 shipping . Cope's has the KCI's for $12 and the factory mags for $24. I was finding Glocks to be (with shipping and/or tax)) $28-$32. So yes, nearly 2-4-1.

Those look all but identical to me haha. Crazy that they would react differently

It was really just the springs, I know some people will put OEM Glock springs in them, but slighty bending to spring evens it all out.

Hey stephennn haha Yea they do work great!

Now order a 33 rder!

I plan to Ray, TRUST ME!

Yea, I've seen the 15rd ones around some places for as low as $9.99-$11.99. And some places have 2 mags and a nylon belt pouch for around $23

Also they produce a 33rd mag that I have seen around for $19.99. I plan to order one of those soon to try out. I have to replace some parts in my trigger assembly first.

I have had no issues with any of my KCI mags. I currently have 8/15rnd mags for range use only. They function 100% with no failures. Putting 15rds into them is just like putting 15rds in to the standared Glock mags.

For the price, these are a steal. I plan to get a few more to stricktly have extras for the range. Before long, I'll be able to load all my KCI and Glock Mags and have about 500rds loaded up and ready to go. Less reloading time and more shooting time!!!
