Turned down??!!!??? Wow!

It was apparently going to lock him into the same agent through his college career.  His family said something to the effect of “why take a million now when you can get 100 million later.”

I get it I guess. But man.  You’re a high school sophomore.  So many things still have to go right for you to make it to the pros.

I think I would have advised my kid to bank the money now and invest it wisely.

4 mins into the 4th quarter and Alabama was still barely ahead of South Florida, 14 to 13. That's embarrassing for a top 5 school. How did they hold on to their #4 ranking after that? I fear Georgia is going to blow 'Bama out when they meet.

Wow! Georgia over Kentucky by one?! I didn't see that coming. And KY won the statistical battle, apart from the most important stat... points.  I didn't watch the game but think I'll go check the YouTube highlights.

Georgia’s first SEC road game is notoriously ugly. They didn’t look good at all. They fell into that rut early of running on the first 2 downs then passing. Plus with Vandergriff having an axe to grind , Kentucky didn’t look too bad. I can definitely see them with an upset win.
GO DAWGS!

I’m genuinely starting to feel sorry for Kent State, lol.

Why?  Kent State got $1.35mil to travel for this game.  It's normal for schools outside the big conferences to take a thumping as a way to help fund their athletic departments.

It's also an opportunity for the players.  Being able to have some game tape against a far better team helps when NFL scouts are evaluating them.

Thanks professor, I know that Kent State was paid very well to offer themselves up for an ass whipping, but sucking that bad has got to wear out their players even if they knew that before the game even started.  😀

When I was working with the football team at MTSU as an academic mentor, they went to Alabama to be sacrificed in Bama's home opener.  The players enjoyed the experience and a chance to play in famous stadium.  The ones who were from Alabama got their parents tickets to the game.

Blue Raiders got spanked, but the team made the most of it.

I’ll bet that was an interesting job. Cool!

One of the best I've had.  I took it up almost out of boredom after not having a job my first year, and found it very fulfilling.  Ran the study hall two years for the freshman players Mon-Thu with a couple of sorority gals, with us helping them get used to college, making sure they did their work, which for some of them was quite an adjustment after being pushed through public schools.

I got to work with the harder cases.  Some of them were just there to play ball and skated by, but for the ones who wanted to take advantage of the opportunity a full ride provided and make an effort, I was happy to help teach/coach/mentor where I could.

It was also nice to not have to mind my language or worry about coming on too strong in communicating with the guys.  😁

Anyone here like going to Vols games?  You're gonna be paying for more for the players it seems.  Tennessee is the first, won't be the last.

I love going to the games. But I don’t like the talent tax  But now you have no alternative to pay more if your going to games  in person.  Or watch on ESPN which I will do in future.  I agree it’s getting like the Professional Football all about money  But I will watch on Tv where bathroom is close And drinks aren’t 13:00 dollars.
