New member from Memphis,TN.

Co-Founder of the Shelby Metro Zombie Response Unit.

We are a "shooting club" really with some other mixed in hobbies, but we do take firearms very serious. Most of the founders are NRA members and also have Tennessee Carry Permits.

Glad to be on the site now to trade ideas and get to know some other enthusiasts throughout the state.

Welcome from a displaced Memphian. Did you go out huntin' Zombies downtown last night? :D

Some of us were down there. And actually at first it sounded like that's what the organizers were worried about.

We were mentioned in the main paper here in the article about the walk.

At first it read like this:

New to this year's walk will be a Shelby Metro Zombie Response Unit, which will be gunning for the undead.

Zombie walk organizers aren't sure what this group has in store, but they hope it's just acting.

Then later in the day a reporter from the Commercial Appeal called to get some more info, the first question was "You are not planning to really harass or attack the participants are you?".

Then the article was rewritten to the content now with my comments.

We are down there, handing our recruiting cards, and taking A LOT of photos and actually have a great interaction with everyone and talked with the organizers.

Was a lot of fun for all, and from something like that to go off in Memphis with any serious issues or a visit from the MPD, I'd say thats speaks alot for the participants of this event.

I've heard sometimes of the year they are usually just innocent idiot tourist though.

The living dead. Reanimated corpses. They're becoming quite problematic.

Welcome to TGO!

I checked out your site, but when I read something about filling a wiffleball bat with concrete to use as a weapon, I suddenly envisioned a 30-something guy playing World of Warcraft in him moms basement.

Enjoy your stay!

Got to get creative sometimes. Never know what you might be left with for defense. :D

Thanks for patrolling downtown during the event. I was worried that might actually be a ruse to catch us humans off-guard and that it was the start of the undead uprising.
