Seriously, everytime I read someone's account of an ammo expedition I get hot flashes and cold sweats.

Stop posting how you found ammo. Stop posting how you did not find ammo. Stop posting how much what you found or did not find cost.

Stop posting about the man at Walmart unloading ammo and a line halfway to houswares waiting to buy it.

I can't take it anymore.

I find myself driving by gunshops...

...that are not on my way home.

The first step is to admit that you have a problem.

For me, its been 6 hours since I bought ammo. Baby steps, Mike. Baby steps.

Hope you like shootin'! When supply catches back up with demand as it will, you'll be stuck with some inventory. :D

I hope all the vultures get stuck with ammo and have to sell it for a loss. I'd say there's a good chance of that but it may be a while.

I only try to purchase ammo at fair prices, like WalMart prices of 8.97 a box for 9mm and 12.97 for .45ACP. Generally I find an average of 200rds every couple of weeks to a month. Finally after 2 months of WalMarts in my area, I've purchased enough to hit the range, excersise all my firearms and still have a good start on ammo for the next range session. :D

12 Steps of Ammo-holics Anonymous

1. We admitted we were powerless over ammo—that our lives had become

unmanageable with and without it.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore the stock of ammo at our local walmart

3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him, and trust him to keep our ammo locker full.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of our ammo lockers, and realized that our self worth was not a reflection of it.

5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs, and vowed not to push old ladies out of the way to be first to fresh stock of .380.

6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character, even though my local gun shop insists my behavior is acceptable and normal.

7. Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings, and give us a better daytime talk show to watch so we don't feel the need to shoot.

8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed through large ammo markups, and became willing to make amends to them all

9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others, because they fear my violent need for ammo may arise and subject them to "the crazy eye".

10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it. It was wrong to sold crack and made meth to support other habits.

11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out, despite our disbelief that He would subject us to huge ammo shortages and a democratic president at the same time.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to ammo-holics, and to practice these principles in all our shopping trips.

You have "crews" driving around to 130 wal-marts strictly looking for ammo? Or am I misinterpreting your post?

Crews? To 80 WalMarts? If that is true it's no wonder we have an ammo problem. Sounds like a Voldemort problem.

I wouldn't be too hard on CJR about his "crews". I posted an ad on GoLSN.com that I Was looking for some .380 ammo. A guy who is a sales rep of fishing lures responded, saying he covers 46 stores between here and Mississippi and that he'd look for me. In 46 stores in a weeks time, he found all of 4 boxes of .380 ammo. I bought 2 of those off of him.

Therefore, Even if there are 80 walmarts, he might not find more than 4-5 boxes

A friend of mine went to a Walmart here Saturday and asked them when the last time they saw a box of 9mm.

They responded with this morning, 17 boxes. Believe was Blazers.

What they said is happening every day ispeople are calling at 7am when they put the stock out and putting the entire stock on hold and then coming in and buying it out.

Needless to say, he is now a 6:59am caller.
