Ultimate list of guns to own

That is a list of guns the author would LIKE to own. Not a list of guns TO own.

Granted, its a fine list. Some magnificent pieces there. But way, way over my pay grade. 🙄

It is an interesting list. Some I understand some I don’t. Not sure why anyone would want to own Oswald’s carcano.
I do think the old military 1911s are very much of interest. I always looked to see the different manufacturers on 1911s when issued to me. Same with the older M16s.
But I agree that list is not for the average person.

Collector's list. I'm more of a shooter. None of these are on my list. Maybe Elmer Kieth's No 5. For surplus 1911 I'd look for Remington Rand since that was the best of my issue pistols.

I would love to own it.  I'd take it and a stack of ammo to the range and possibly learn a lot.  If half of what I've read about that rifle is true, Oswald couldn't have hit the floor with it, much less Kennedy's head.

An awful lot is written and said about the accuracy of the  Carcano, but almost all of it comes from people who know nothing.  Here's an interesting article that I just came across this morning:

Army Veteran Analyzes the Infamous Rifle That Ended JFK's Life | SOFREP

(Short summary -- a trained rifleman could make this shot repeatedly.)

I have no doubt that the Carcano is accurate enough to have made the shot.  I wasn’t talking about the Carcano.  I was talking about OSWALD’S Carcano.
