Anybody have any experience with these airsoft guns?

I live inside the city therefore I cant do what I REALLY want to do...I have a fence around my pool and EVERY f***IN' bird in Tennessee sits on my fence and :poop:'s all over the fence and the pool and my deck.

Are the airsoft guns accurate enough to put some bruises on some pesky flying rats?

Depends on what type and brand you buy. My Western Arms SV shoots 275-280 FPS. It will punch holes thru quarter size IPSC targets at 7 yds. AEG rifles are expensive but have a helluva lot more power.

You get what you pay for. Hi-end AEG's can be modded to shoot holes through alum. cans and can have very high rates of fire. At that point accuracy is not needed when it comes time to spray.

I played locally a year or so ago. Fun, but not exactly what I thought it would be like. I still keep a CO2 air pistol for giggles and grins.

A Daisy Red Ryder is like $30 at Wal-Mart. Shoots real BB's, not plastic. However there is the serious possibility that you'll put your eye out kid.

Then again, if you want to be really cool, someone posted about this the other day....

You can get one from Amazon or Sportsman's Guide for about $40.

I've got an ak47w/ underfolding stock that shoots 350 psi. This gun is rechargable and looks and feels real.It has an ajustable hop-up.We have airsoft wars pretty often and they are loads of fun.try hobbytron.com for really good deals or if you are going to be in Gatlinburg anytime soon they have several good airsoft shops and if they are having a slow day most will cut you a real deal.

I've spent the past 5 years of my life playing airsoft.

And like with everything else, you get what you pay for. Look for an AEG (automatic electric gun), that has an FPS of 350 or greater. As well as adjustable hop-up, which puts a backspin on the pellet allowing greater distance and accuracy.

I always played with a Classic Army M1A Scout. Beefed up, with a 320% spring, new gear box, bigger, juicier battery, and a tighter bore. Pushing 625 FPS, and I could shoot matchsticks at 75 ft with that thing. It would bring blood on the playing field, lol.

Some out of the box rifles are like that, but you pay for it. Check out redwolfairsoft.com or airsoftatlanta.com and look at prices and specs. Make sure you get something that comes with a battery and a charger as well.

And another plus, you can train with it in your own backyard and not piss off the neighbors. Not to mention the fact it's ridiculously cheap to shoot.

we bought one from Dicks and it looks like a Walther. It was cheap, but the bb's move pretty quick. Only problem with accuracy is that the bb's rise about 6" from point of aim at distances past 15'-20'. Once you compensate for the rise, you can dang near hit what you are aiming at. It's fun and could be used for hours of bird/squirel ridding fun.
