⚠️ Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers ⚠️

This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO.

  • Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with.   Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete.  Your experience will help others.

  • Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun!  None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction.  They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns.  DON'T DO IT.

  • Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO.  Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye.

Nice rifle. I'm curious about your requirement of TN residency though? I work in Nashville live in KY but I buy long arms all the time from Guns and Leather, Goodlettsville gun etc. Understand that for handguns and I see others post it too just wondering why? Thanks! And if DM works better please do I'm possibly a buyer on this.

Hi there. Under federal law, an unlicensed individual is prohibited from transferring a firearm to an individual who does not reside in the same state as the transferee. If I were to sell this to someone who lived in another state per se we would have to go through an FFL with 4473 etc. I hope this answers your question.

In Tennessee, persons who are not engaged in the business of dealing in firearms under
federal law are not required to obtain a background check before making an occasional sale or
transfer of a firearm pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 39-17-1316(c)(2)

Not negating what you're saying but which federal law are you referring to? Just want to make sure I am informed and protect myself.

Thanks.

Correct. The problem comes up with residents in other states.
