I would like to know what you think TFA is going that is causing harm, particularly harm anywhere near on par with the Brady campaign.

Continuing to push for a clean bill when the House has repeatedly shown, as recently with the last vote to non-concur, they don't want that. Remember, whatever comes out of conference committee has to be voted on yet again. And if it comes out clean and they vote it down again, it's done. And probably done for several House sessions.

Why should we care what THEY want? Aren't representatives supposed to represent the people, as well as being sworn to uphold the U.S. constitution? I think they are.. Once again I refer you to that pesky second amendment thingy.. I'm purchasing a good pocket pistol to cover all eventualities.. God knows every thug in Tennessee will have one even if I don't..

We should care because they're the ones that get to vote. And keep in mind, they're probably getting just as many calls and letters from the nutjobs that post the crazy scenarios of what might happen if these laws are passed in the Tennessean. We're myopic if we think we're the only ones writing our Reps.

I'm with you. If this bill is killed, I'll likely just carry everywhere anyway. I'd just prefer it to be legal. I wonder how many others here will partake in "civil disobedience"?

I know I'm always arguing with you over the right balance with this, but I do in fact view you as a brother in arms.. I'm glad to see you say that you won't let your government deny your right to self protection.. Also, I agree that the law should always be followed when the law isn't clearly being "an ass"..

Don't worry, I don't take anything on the internet personally. ;)

Besides, we both want the same thing. Of course I'd prefer no restrictions, I'm not one of those guys that says he has guns but believes in the need for "common sense gun laws". But in the big picture, if the best we can do is a bill with a couple of restrictions that for the large majority of HCP holders will amount to a minor inconvenience at best, I can live with that until we can get it tweaked. It's certainly better than the current situation.

While well meaning, I don't think all of the OP's information is 100% accurate.

I'd like to amend my statement.....having seen the actions of the last few days...it seems more like the OP had more information than the rest of us rather than not being correct.
